My name is Megan, and I’m a registered psychotherapist (qualifying).
I’m passionate about mental health, and I enjoy sharing this passion with clients in a safe, empowering, genuine way. I believe that the client is the best authority on their life, and my job is to help you navigate your own path through self-discovery and healing.
I’ve worked in the wellness field my whole life. Starting in 2007 as a massage practitioner in British Columbia, I continued my education through the early 2010s, moving across the country to Kitchener,
Ontario, where I now reside. Over the following years, I became a registered massage therapist and a 500-hour yoga teacher, and in 2023 I completed my Master's degree in Counseling and Psychotherapy with distinction from Yorkville University. The current era of my career is focused on better understanding the tools and science behind nervous system regulation and cultivating a connection between body and mind.
While I pride myself on being professional, I am a human first. I have had my own struggles with the effect of life’s challenges and transitions on my mental health. In my late 20s, an important romantic relationship ended, which led to a major cross-country move and a commitment to self-discovery. I was also diagnosed with ADHD in my late 30s, which required me to learn new self-regulation and coping skills .
Additionally, I have experienced the grief and loss of providing palliative care to family members. I share this to help you understand that I, too, have lived experiences of incredible change, challenge, and bereavement. I believe these experiences add to my empathic abilities, and my own personal journey is one of the reasons I decided to become a therapist.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time going on walks in the forest with my dog, Leia. Movement has always been a part of my life, and I enjoy running, yoga, strength training, and biking. I also love to travel, exploring new places and experiences with my spouse.
